The Kernel Panics listed at the end of the EtreCheck report suggest a bad Logic Board.įirst, "x86 CPU CATERR detected" means a CPU CATastrophic ERRor which usually means a hardware issue with the Logic Board although there is a very slim chance of an external Thunderbolt device causing a problem. Unfortunately the Logic Boards for the 2018-2020 Intel Macs tend to have a high rate of failure due to the T2 security chip (especially the 16" 2019 model). I have already deleted all Topaz apps from the laptop and the second this happens on my main PC, will do the same.I'm sorry to say that the Logic Board has most likely failed once more. Lightroom’s new Denoise is comparable to Denoise AI so I will be going down this path. I stress that this was a Windows only update, not Topaz software so is this a push towards Photo AI?ĭespite the updates to Photo AI, in my experience the noise reduction is inferior to Denoise AI, which is why I continued with it. Interestingly, Photo AI continues to work and only the other apps fail. There is no error log.Ĭomplete removal of Topaz apps including registry entries has no effect. The loading window appears briefly and disappears. After the update, Denoise, Sharpen and Gigapixel do not load. I DID NOT update Topaz products as they already were the latest versions. With an upcoming trip, I updated the laptop’s Windows, Photoshop and Lightroom. I use Topaz apps on two devices, a desktop PC for the majority of the work and a laptop when I travel. Apparently there is no longer a category for Denoise or Sharpen.
